Hart-Ransom Elementary: Every Day Counts!

This year, Hart-Ransom Elementary School has gladly joined our County in the Every Day Counts attendance campaign. Our school goal is a 97% attendance rate.  We are not far from our mark! Currently, Hart-Ransom Elementary's satisfactory attendance rate is 82.5%, but we want to do better. A higher attendance rate means we are providing better life opportunities for our students. To continue to promote positive attendance, we will provide recognition for perfect and improved attendance efforts.

Why is it SO important to attend school?

We know that for each day a student misses school, he gets more than two days behind his peers because he must make up missed learning and catch up with new learning at the same time. Every day a student is in school, she raises her chance to perform better in all academic areas. Every day a student goes to school, he learns a little more about responsibility.

When should I keep my child home?

When students miss too  many days of school, they fall behind and struggle to keep up with their classmates. Whether the days missed are due to illness, truancy or for any other reason, the result for the student is the same - learning time is lost. Children and adolescents will get sick at times and may need to stay at home, but we want to work with you to help minimuze the number of days your student is absent from school. There ARE times when a student is TOO SICK to attend school. Below are some suggestions for children 5 to 18 years of age:
